Once you complete Massage Therapy training, the next steps you need to take toward your career might be confusing. Today, massage therapists have a wide range of career paths to follow due to the increasing popularity of the massage therapy industry. There are many different places to work, and many different types of people you can serve.

Relaxation and Spa masseuses can use their massage therapy training to help people with stress management and relaxation. Usually, this field is practiced in spas or within a massage therapy practice. Other places that hire this type of masseuse include salons, cruise ships, casinos, hotels, and resorts.

A sports masseuse uses massage therapy training to work with athletes. Massage therapy can help athletes enhance their performance. There are many opportunities for employment with sports massage including: health clubs, colleges, professional sports franchises, physical therapy offices, sports medicine clinics, doctor’s offices, and private massage therapy practices.

Onsite and corporate massage therapy requires the masseuse to go on location to businesses, the mall, individual homes, offices, conventions and other events. These types of massages range from 15 minutes chair massages to a full table massage, depending on the location. This type of work allows for a great deal of flexibility and change. Most self-employed masseuses do this type or work with their own private practices.
